Smooth Stones

Smooth Stones, gouache on watercolor paper, 6.5x10

Chronicling journeys often offers insights and encouragement. Insights reveal themselves as themes, as well as compass points to chart the course. Encouragement for when the journey inevitably gets tough and tougher, to remember those times and not let the memories and lessons of overcoming fade.

My name is Jenna Caruthers and I'm an artist. I have returned to painting after many years of channeling my creativity into home decor and crafts, fiber artistry, and getting a couple of children grown. Like most young people I did a lot of drawing and painting. I was fortunate enough to begin study with a local artist at age 11, continuing to pursue pastel and oil painting with her until I was 19. I've learned a thing or three over 40 years since.

This blog is the bucket where I will toss my art discoveries like a collection of pretty stones. Thanks for coming along.
